Amazon has been trying to win the favour of the Chinese government for years. Amazon marketed a collection of speeches and writings by President Xi Jinping on its Chinese website about two years ago. Normally Amazon reviews books, but in China Amazon bowed to pressure from the Chinese government to disable reviews for the book of speeches and writings by President Xi Jinping.
